So, after waiting forever, you have a shiny new ring on your finger. First off, congratulations! You are about to set out on the best adventure, and it all starts with a party you are never going to forget. Now, it’s just a matter of finding the location that works best for your style. Yes, I know. It’s easier said than done. But don’t worry, that’s why I am here! As a Wilmington wedding photographer, I am lucky enough to travel all across the area, capturing the best venues. Here are the Wilmington wedding venues I think you should have on your radar!
1952 Allens Lane, Wilmington, North Carolina 28403
Wrightsville Manor is a unique Wilmington venue with indoor and outdoor locations for your wedding celebration. The interior is positively stunning, with white walls accented by pale, exposed brick. Brass chandeliers illuminate the space, while the open floor plan gives you plenty of room for dancing. The brick carries into the exterior, where you will find a verdant lawn where your guests can sit for your ceremony. From intimate garden parties to grand soirees, they are there for it all! The venue can host up to 300 guests.
300 Airlie Road, Wilmington, North Carolina 28403
For those who prefer a nature-filled outdoor wedding, Airlie Gardens is going to be your Wilmington venue! This private garden is breathtaking, with ivy-covered walkways and historic trees. They let you bring in event tents so you can keep the party going through your reception. In addition to their gorgeous locations, this venue offers straightforward packages so you can find the one that is best for your celebration! They offer enough space for up to 300 guests with available wedding dates from March through mid-October.
254 N. Front Street, Suite 100, Wilmington, North Carolina 28401
The Elia gives you an industrial chic space that is full of historic charm! Their 7,000-square-foot building can comfortably host up to 175 guests. Throughout your day, you will have an open and airy building complete with exposed brick and white piping. Crown molding gives the feeling of elegance, while the chandeliers add a bit of warmth, contrasting the polished concrete floors. They even offer a stage you can use while you exchange vows! The team at The Elia offers drinks and catering throughout your entire celebration.
15 South 2nd Street, Wilmington, North Carolina 28401
The Atrium is a modern Wilmington venue that pairs industrial charm with natural beauty for weddings. The concept was first dreamt up in the 1970s as an urban garden/office space. About 15 years ago, it was transformed into a venue space unlike any other! While you will be right in the heart of downtown Wilmington, the storefront exterior gives you total privacy. Through the doors, you will find an open-air paradise with tranquil ponds, green walls, and plenty of additional foliage. The venue can host up to 150 guests, making it the perfect option for mid-sized weddings.
516 N. 4th Street, Wilmington, North Carolina 28401
For those who prefer a more traditional atmosphere, Brooklyn Arts Center is for you! This venue offers a 19th-century church complete with Gothic revival windows and 60-foot cathedral ceilings. The true star of the show is the stage centered in the massive pointed arch. You can use this area for your entertainment throughout your reception, or you can set your table here so you and your partner will have a front-row seat to all the excitement. While you will have the classic church vibes, this venue welcomes weddings of all faiths to come in and use the historic backdrop. You will also have access to the courtyard for outdoor ceremonies and cocktail hours. This venue is able to hold up to 250 guests.
15 Bridge Road, Wilmington, North Carolina 28411
For those who want something a bit more upscale, the Figure Eight Island Yacht Club might just be your spot! This exclusive Wilmington venue puts you right on the waterfront while ensuring you have all the accommodations you could possibly need for your wedding. You can exchange vows on the lawn overlooking the water before heading to the beach for pictures in the sand. They will provide you with an event tent so you can have an outdoor reception that offers fabulous views without the Carolina heat!
209 Oaksmith Boulevard, Morehead City, North Carolina 28577
The White Oak gives you North Carolina at its very best! This waterfront venue is in its own little world while still keeping you near Beaufort and Atlantic Beach. For your vows, you will be on The Ceremony lawn, where you will have the very best views of the ocean. Once it’s time for your reception, you can use either The Live Oak Grove or The Bluff and Beach for a dinner beneath the live oaks. The venue also offers designated spots for pictures, including the sprawling dock that takes you out over the water.
105 Orange Street, Wilmington, North Carolina 28401
Bakery 105 is a gorgeous wedding venue located right in the heart of downtown Wilmington. While there are so many aspects to love about this gorgeous venue, my favorite thing is how they ensure you have all the amenities you need for a seamless day! They have the cutest bridal suite down the street called The Cottage of Orange Street. Once you are done getting ready, you can get tons of great snapshots walking to the venue! They offer an industrial chic indoor space as well as a gated courtyard perfect for an urban reception.
Bald Head Island, North Carolina
For those who want an unforgettable beach wedding, I highly suggest checking out Bald Head Island! To reach this village, you will take a 20-minute ferry ride before reaching the most picture-perfect location around. The village offers a variety of beautiful locations perfect for your wedding. For those who love a traditional setting, the Bald Head Island Chapel is a quaint, interfaith church with gorgeous wooden details that will shine through your wedding pics. You can also choose beachfront country clubs like Shoals Club or The Clubs at St. James Plantation. Once you are done with your ceremony, be sure to check out the Old Baldy Lighthouse so you can have the perfect backdrop for your pics!
